A number to words converter turns digits into a reading a person can put on paper: `1200000` becomes `one million two hundred thousand`, or in Vietnamese `một triệu hai trăm nghìn`. Vietnamese paperwork asks for this constantly — invoices, contracts, receipts and bank transfer slips all carry the amount twice, once in digits and once in words, so a typo in one is caught by the other.

Vietnamese number reading has rules that trip up even native speakers when writing formally. After a tens word, 1 softens to `mốt` and 5 to `lăm`: 21 is `hai mươi mốt`, 25 is `hai mươi lăm`, yet 15 is `mười lăm` and 5 alone is `năm`. An empty tens place inside a number is bridged by a filler word, so 101 is `một trăm linh một`. And a group of zeros in the middle must be spoken: 1,000,005 is `một triệu không trăm linh năm`, never `một triệu năm`, which is a different amount.
The reading also differs by region, in exactly two words. Northern documents write `nghìn` and `linh` where Southern ones write `ngàn` and `lẻ`. Both are correct; this tool has a toggle for each so the output matches whichever convention your documents already use. The đồng mode writes the full bank sentence — capitalized, ending in `đồng chẵn` — ready to paste into an invoice. An English mode spells the same number in standard cardinal words.

Questions
Why is 21 read as hai mươi mốt but 11 as mười một?
The softened form mốt only appears after a tens word (mươi). Eleven uses the bare mười, so the unit keeps its normal form: mười một.
What is the difference between linh and lẻ?
They are the same filler word for an empty tens place: 101 is một trăm linh một or một trăm lẻ một. Linh is the Northern spelling and lẻ the Southern one, so pick the toggle that matches your paperwork.
What does đồng chẵn mean on an invoice?
Chẵn marks the amount as whole, with nothing after the đồng. Bank paperwork appends it so a handwritten amount cannot be extended with extra digits.
Why must the zeros in 1,000,005 be spoken?
Because một triệu năm reads as an abbreviation of 1,500,000 to many listeners. Reading the padded group — không trăm linh năm — pins the magnitude of every digit.
How large a number can it read?
Up to 10^15, read as một triệu tỷ in Vietnamese and one quadrillion in English. Above that the tool refuses rather than risk an inexact reading.
